Empower and Celebrate the Women in Your Life

This post is dedicated to women. We appreciate you for being strong and influential, inspiring change, and making a difference in the world. We appreciate you for uplifting, empowering, and supporting other women.

 We are proudly celebrating you.

This celebration spans beyond just one day or one month. Women are shattering stereotypes and creating notable change every day, and we think it’s important to recognize and expand upon such progress.

In the month of March, we officially celebrate two notable events: International Women’s Day, celebrated March 8th, and Women’s History Month, observed during the entire month of March. International Women’s Day dates back to the early 1900s, and the importance remains the same today. This day, as well as the entire month of March, is dedicated to celebrating women and their achievements, recognizing the struggles faced and progress made over time, highlighting important figures in history who have made an impact, and inspiring future women to continue to drive change and make a positive difference for other women.

While there are so many wonderful things that women are achieving on a daily basis that deserve praise, it’s also important to make a point to empower other women more regularly and to encourage each other. After all, when women support each other, incredible things happen.

Here are a few ways you can help empower women and make their voices heard:

Support Their Dreams

Whether you’re just hearing about their ambitions for the first time, or you want to help them find their passion, show genuine interest in what ignites a fire within them. Be inquisitive.

If they seem doubtful about following their dreams, offer them reassurance. Let them know that you believe in them and you’re rooting for them. Having reassurance from someone they love and trust will make all the difference and it lets them know that they’re not in this journey alone.

Another way you can help is by introducing them to the appropriate contacts that can help them achieve their goals. It is easier for women to help each other advance, and to help one another find their voice of reason or discover their “why.” The right exposure or network can be a catalyst for growth.

Women have had a hard time rising into leadership roles and have faced systemic setbacks that have made it harder for them to advance. Having other women in their circle of trust and support that have been in that position makes it easier to navigate those hurdles.

Show Your Support on Social Media

If you have a social media account, this is a great way to highlight and boost the confidence of the special women in your life. Whether they own a small business that you want to help raise awareness for, or as a “just because” if they inspire you or you want to bless someone’s feed with their beauty, mention them. Call them out in a positive way.

You might have heard of some of the challenges that women participated in that are aimed at female solidarity, such as the black and white photo challenge. This is a great way to spread positivity and inspire others to follow suit.

Adventure Together

One of the most powerful ways to strengthen a bond is by tackling a challenge together. We raise that theory and say go spend time in nature together. There’s something undeniably freeing about braving the great outdoors with someone else.

By venturing into the unknown together, you may find that you face fears together and improve your problem-solving and judgment skills. Sharing a common adventure together can also help put things into perspective, and it can make facing the world seem less intimidating.

The pandemic has made this a little bit difficult, but as things return to normal there are many opportunities you can seize, such as embarking on a women’s-only retreat. These retreats are a great way to meet like-minded women with shared passions in a positive environment, while also carving out time for yourself. Plus, you’ll open yourself up to new cultures if the retreat includes women from other parts of the globe.

Host or Attend an Event for Women

Attending an event specifically for women is a great way to network, discuss ideas and dreams, and it gives you the opportunity to both learn from and help someone else. Depending on what type of event it is, gathering brilliant women together in one space is a great way to set intentions and collectively get things done with a powerhouse of different types of minds. A woman alone can be powerful, but there is an even greater impact from a team of women.

You might find strengths you didn’t know you possessed and align with someone who helps you grow from your weaknesses. Ultimately, you can gain a new perspective. If the setting is more casual, you can benefit from bonding with other women you may have otherwise not gotten the chance to know.

If you’re up for organizing an event, there are plenty of great resources online with tips to help you get started (or even walk you through the entire planning process) for practically any type of event.

Donate To or Support Women-Owned Business

When you donate to women-owned businesses or to an organization that provides financial aid to women who want to start a business, you are directly supporting economic empowerment for women, and helping to close the economic gap between genders. Direct donations are crucial for helping female entrepreneurs because statistics show that a mere 4% of the total dollar value from standard small business loans go to women.

Women-owned businesses represent a significant portion of the economy overall and by supporting them, you’re supporting the overall growth of the economy.
