It follows that your skincare products can only be as clean as their ingredients. And it's also a truth that in order to make truly clean skincare one should do so using only the cleanest and most environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

Directions

A Little Goes A Long Way So Only A Thin Coat Is Necessary On  Places You Typically Have Breakouts, Or In Places You Suspect A Breakout May Occur.

  • Begin with a freshly cleansed and toned face. Your face should be slightly damp from your toner.
  • Be selective. Apply a small amount of serum to your fingertips and work it into your skin where you are having issues or think you will have an outbreak in the near future.
  • Let the serum completely absorb into your skin.
  • Lightly mist with toner, and gently massage your face to work the serum in even deeper. This massage also increases circulation which is important to control bacteria.
  • Follow up with a moisturizer.

Borage Seed Oil is derived from the seeds of the borage plant (Borago officinalis) and is known for its high content of a specific type of fatty acid called gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Here's an analysis of the components and potential benefits of borage oil for human facial skin:

Fatty Acids:

  1. Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA): Borage oil is one of the richest natural sources of Gamma Linoleic Fatty Acid , an omega-6 fatty acid. GLA is not very common in other plant-based oils and is known for its potential skin benefits. GLA supports skin health by promoting moisture retention, soothing inflammation, and maintaining the skin's barrier function.  GLA supports overall skin health and may contribute to collagen synthesis, which is important for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness.
  2. Linoleic Acid: Borage oil also contains linoleic acid, which is another essential fatty acid that contributes to maintaining the skin's natural barrier and overall health.
  3. Phytosterols: Borage oil contains phytosterols, which are plant compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties. These compounds can help calm and soothe irritated skin.

How Borage Oil Benefits Human Facial Skin:

  1. Moisturization and Hydration: The GLA in borage oil helps the skin retain moisture, improving hydration levels and promoting a plump and youthful appearance.
  2. Anti-Inflammatory: GLA is converted in the body into anti-inflammatory compounds, which can help alleviate redness, irritation, and inflammation. Borage oil is often used to support conditions like eczema and rosacea.
  3. Skin Barrier Enhancement: The fatty acids in borage oil, particularly GLA, contribute to strengthening the skin's natural barrier. This helps maintain optimal hydration and protection from environmental stressors.
  4. Acne and Breakouts: Borage oil's anti-inflammatory properties may be beneficial for individuals with acne-prone skin, as it can help reduce inflammation and redness associated with breakouts.

Fatty Acids:

  1. Oleic Acid: Tamanu oil contains oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that helps to moisturize and nourish the skin. It supports the skin's lipid barrier, preventing water loss and promoting hydration.
  2. Linoleic Acid: Tamanu oil also contains linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid that the body cannot produce on its own. Linoleic acid helps to maintain the skin's barrier function, regulate sebum production, and improve the appearance of acne-prone or oily skin.

Bioactive Compounds:

  1. Calophyllolide: This is a unique compound found in tamanu oil that has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It contributes to the oil's ability to soothe and calm irritated skin.

  2. Anti-Inflammatory: Calophyllolide and other bioactive compounds in tamanu oil possess anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for soothing irritated and inflamed skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
  3. Skin Barrier Support: The fatty acids in tamanu oil, particularly oleic acid and linoleic acid, help strengthen the skin's natural barrier. This supports moisture retention and helps keep the skin hydrated and supple.
  4. Acne-Prone Skin: Tamanu oil's balanced composition of fatty acids makes it potentially beneficial for those with acne-prone skin. Linoleic acid can help regulate sebum production and reduce the risk of clogged pores.
  5. Antioxidant Protection: The tocotrienols in tamanu oil offer antioxidant protection, which helps to combat free radical damage and premature aging of the skin.
  6. Moisturization: Similar to other natural oils, tamanu oil provides emollient properties that moisturize and soften the skin, enhancing its overall texture and appearance.

UV Protection: Some studies suggest that tamanu oil may offer mild sun protection due to its antioxidant content. However, it should not be used as a substitute for proper sunscreen.
