Details

This clarifying treatment mask for a healthier, glowing and more youthful complexion.

The trace amounts of carefully selected essential oils in this mask are there to help kill the bacteria, remove impurities, and eliminate excess oil.

Directions
  • Apply a moderate layer to freshly cleansed, toned skin after your skin is dry. This gives the mask good adhesion.
  • Have a cup of tea.
  • Leave the mask on for 5 or 10 minutes, or until it begins to tighten and dry. Never let any mask dry on your skin, because as it tightens it stresses your skin laterally.
  • Rinse thoroughly with water that’s not too hot and not too cold. Comfortable water temperature is important because that's your skin’s way telling you the temperature is just right. Skin is very smart and if you listen carefully, it'll tell you what it needs in order to be healthy, lovely and glowing.
  • The best way to remove any mask is to apply it before you plan to shower and then when the mask is ready to remove hop in the shower and let the water stream wash it away.

Tip: The first time you use this mask, wash it off after 5 minutes. With continued use, increase the duration of the mask by 5 minutes increments until you reach the full 15 minutes. This is to determine the optimal time to leave the mask on. Your skin will tell you when you reach the proper time.

Formulating an ideal skincare product is a lot more than assembling a list of good ingredients, it’s understanding the secondary and sometimes tertiary interactions and achieving the ideal ratios. We always do.

    Benefits Of Key Ingredients

    Abyssinian Oil

Also known as Abyssinian seed oil or crambe seed oil, is a natural oil derived from the seeds of the Abyssinian plant (Crambe abyssinica). It's a lesser-known oil that offers potential benefits for skincare. Let's analyze the components and potential benefits of abyssinian seed oil for human facial skin:

    Fatty Acids:

    1. Erucic Acid: Abyssinian oil is unique due to its high content of erucic acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. Erucic acid has moisturizing properties that help prevent water loss from the skin.
    2. Oleic Acid: Abyssinian oil also contains oleic acid, another monounsaturated fatty acid that contributes to the oil's moisturizing and skin-nourishing effects.

    Benefits for Human Facial Skin:

    1. Lightweight Moisturization: Abyssinian oil's fatty acid composition, including erucic acid and oleic acid, provides lightweight moisturization that helps prevent dryness and maintain skin hydration.
    2. Non-Greasy Absorption: Abyssinian oil has a very light texture that is easily absorbed by the skin, making it suitable for various skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.
    3. Skin Barrier Support: The moisturizing effects of abyssinian oil help support the skin's natural barrier function, protecting against moisture loss and external stressors.
    4. Softening and Smoothing: Abyssinian oil's emollient properties contribute to improved skin texture, leaving it softer and smoother.
    5. Non-Comedogenic: Abyssinian oil's lightweight texture and low comedogenic rating make it a good option for individuals prone to breakouts.
    6. Support for Sensitive Skin: Abyssinian oil's gentle nature makes it potentially suitable for individuals with sensitive or easily irritated skin.
    7. Support for Conditions like Eczema: The moisturizing properties of abyssinian oil can provide relief for conditions like eczema and dermatitis.
    8. Anti-Inflammatory: While erucic acid is not known for its anti-inflammatory properties, the overall soothing and moisturizing effects of abyssinian oil can contribute to calming irritated skin.

    Matcha Tea Powder

It is a unique form of green tea that is ground from whole tea leaves, providing a concentrated source of various nutrients. While matcha is primarily consumed as a beverage, some of its components can offer potential benefits for human facial skin. Let's analyze the components and their potential benefits:

    Fatty Acids:

Matcha tea contains minimal amounts of fatty acids. However, the following nutrients present in matcha tea can indirectly support skin health:

    Vitamins:

    1. Vitamin C: Matcha tea is a good source of vitamin C, which is an antioxidant that supports collagen production, skin elasticity, and overall skin health. Vitamin C also helps protect the skin from oxidative stress and may contribute to a more radiant complexion.
    2. Vitamin A: Matcha tea contains provitamin A compounds like beta-carotene, which the body can convert into vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for skin health, as it supports cell turnover, helps maintain a healthy skin barrier, and promotes a smooth texture.
    3. Vitamin E: Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant found in matcha tea that helps protect the skin from free radicals and UV-induced damage. It also supports skin hydration and overall skin health.

    Benefits for Human Facial Skin:

    1. Antioxidant Protection: The antioxidants in matcha tea, including vitamins C and E, help protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by environmental factors, which can contribute to premature aging and skin damage.
    2. Collagen Support: The presence of vitamin C in matcha tea supports collagen synthesis, which is essential for maintaining skin's elasticity, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and promoting a youthful complexion.
    3. UV Defense: The antioxidants in matcha tea may offer some level of protection against UV-induced damage, although it's not a replacement for sunscreen. This can contribute to preventing sun-related skin issues.
    4. Skin Brightening: The vitamin C and other antioxidants in matcha tea can help brighten the skin, reduce hyperpigmentation, and promote a more even skin tone.
    5. Hydration and Nourishment: The vitamins in matcha tea contribute to overall skin hydration and nourishment, promoting a healthier and more vibrant complexion.
    6. Antioxidant Defense: The antioxidants in matcha tea help combat free radicals that contribute to skin aging and damage. This can lead to improved skin texture and tone.

    Tamanu Oil

It is derived from the nuts of the tamanu tree (Calophyllum inophyllum), is another natural oil that's known for its potential benefits for skincare. It contains a unique combination of fatty acids and compounds that contribute to its effects on human facial skin. Here's an analysis of its key components and their benefits:

    Fatty Acids:

    1. Oleic Acid: Tamanu oil contains oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that helps to moisturize and nourish the skin. It supports the skin's lipid barrier, preventing water loss and promoting hydration.
    2. Linoleic Acid: Tamanu oil also contains linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid that the body cannot produce on its own. Linoleic acid helps to maintain the skin's barrier function, regulate sebum production, and improve the appearance of acne-prone or oily skin.

    Bioactive Compounds:

    1. Calophyllolide: This is a unique compound found in tamanu oil that has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It contributes to the oil's ability to soothe and calm irritated skin.
    2. Delta-Tocotrienols: Tamanu oil contains certain forms of vitamin E known as tocotrienols. These tocotrienols have strong antioxidant properties, helping to protect the skin from oxidative stress and support overall skin health.

    Benefits for Human Facial Skin:

    1. Healing and Regeneration: Tamanu oil is often used to support the healing of minor cuts, wounds, and scars. The presence of calophyllolide may contribute to its ability to accelerate the healing process and improve the appearance of scars.
    2. Anti-Inflammatory: Calophyllolide and other bioactive compounds in tamanu oil possess anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for soothing irritated and inflamed skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
    3. Skin Barrier Support: The fatty acids in tamanu oil, particularly oleic acid and linoleic acid, help strengthen the skin's natural barrier. This supports moisture retention and helps keep the skin hydrated and supple.
    4. Acne-Prone Skin: Tamanu oil's balanced composition of fatty acids makes it potentially beneficial for those with acne-prone skin. Linoleic acid can help regulate sebum production and reduce the risk of clogged pores.
    5. Antioxidant Protection: The tocotrienols in tamanu oil offer antioxidant protection, which helps to combat free radical damage and premature aging of the skin.
    6. Moisturization: Similar to other natural oils, tamanu oil provides emollient properties that moisturize and soften the skin, enhancing its overall texture and appearance.
    7. UV Protection: Some studies suggest that tamanu oil may offer mild sun protection due to its antioxidant content. However, it should not be used as a substitute for proper sunscreen.
