So, What Exactly Is An Ampoule?

The ampoule comes to us largely through Korean skincare, where highly concentrated treatments have long been used as an additional step in a thoughtful skincare routine.

3. A serum delivers concentrated active ingredients.
4. And an ampoule takes that idea of concentration another step further.

It isn't intended to replace everything else in your skincare routine. Instead, it gives your skin an additional concentrated treatment when you want to address things like dryness, loss of firmness, fine lines, uneven texture, environmental stress, and the visible changes that naturally occur as our skin matures.

How Do I Use It?

• After cleansing and toning, apply a small amount to clean skin and gently smooth it over your face and neck.

• A small amount, applied consistently and gently, is exactly what we intended.
• But concentration alone doesn't make an ampoule effective.

Peptides Are At The Heart Of This Formula

Peptides are very small chains of amino acids.

And amino acids are the building blocks your body uses to construct proteins—including proteins that are critically important to the structure and appearance of your skin.

As we age, the skin naturally becomes less efficient at maintaining the collagen, elastin and other structural components responsible for its smoothness, firmness and resilience. Certain peptides are fascinating because they can function as biological signals. In skincare, carefully selected peptides can help support the natural processes associated with healthy-looking, resilient skin.

Why We Don't Use A Premixed Peptide Complex

There are easier ways to formulate with peptides.

Many cosmetic peptide ingredients are sold to formulators as premixed complexes. The individual peptides have already been combined in predetermined proportions and dispersed into a ready-to-use base.

They're convenient. But we've never settled on convenience, we insist on controling the purity, concentration and sourcing.

Rather than purchasing a ready-made peptide complex, we begin with the individual peptides themselves, in powder form. That distinction may sound technical, but it's actually very important. It means we can decide exactly which peptides belong in the formula and, just as importantly, how much of each one we want to use.

We aren't locked into someone else's predetermined ratio simply because that's how a particular peptide complex happens to be sold. It also means we don't have to bring along all of the additional carrier ingredients that often accompany premixed peptide solutions.

• No alcohols. No glycerines.
• No synthetic fillers.
• Nothing toxic and everything organic and plant based.

This takes considerably more work. But it allows us to formulate the peptide portion of the Ampoule deliberately:

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1.
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7.
Copper Tripeptide-1.
Acetyl Hexapeptide-8.

Each peptide is selected individually. And each is included at the concentration we chose for its particular role in the finished formula. It's a formulation detail most people would probably never know about.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 + Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

These two peptides complement one another beautifully.

• Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 is a signal peptide associated with supporting the skin's extracellular matrix—the structural environment surrounding skin cells.
• Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 is often used alongside it in formulations intended to support smoother, firmer and more resilient-looking skin.

Together, these peptides have been studied in cosmetic formulations designed to address visible signs of aging, including fine lines, elasticity and skin texture.

What does that mean when you look in the mirror? With consistent use, the goal is skin that appears smoother, firmer and more resilient, with softened fine lines and a healthier, more rested appearance.

Copper Tripeptide-1 — GHK-Cu

This is an especially fascinating peptide.

GHK is a naturally occurring small peptide that has an affinity for copper. When complexed with copper it becomes what is commonly called GHK-Cu, or Copper Tripeptide-1.

Copper peptides have attracted considerable scientific interest because of their relationship to biological processes involved in skin remodeling and repair. For skincare, we're particularly interested in GHK-Cu because it complements the other peptides in the Ampoule beautifully.

Where the peptide complex as a whole is intended to support the appearance of firmness and structure, Copper Tripeptide-1 adds another dimension focused on healthy-looking, resilient skin.

For mature or environmentally stressed skin, we think that's a wonderful combination.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 — Argireline

Why We Formulated With Korean Red Ginseng

Ginseng has a long history in skincare, prized for its ability to support skin vitality and radiance.

Korean Red Ginseng specifically undergoes a steaming and drying process that concentrates its active compounds, including ginsenosides, compounds studied for their role in supporting skin's natural resilience.

Where Matcha brings antioxidant defense, Ginseng brings something complementary: support for skin's natural energy and glow.

• Orchid Extract brings botanical compounds with antioxidant properties and helps support the conditioned, supple feeling we wanted from the finished Ampoule.

Meadowfoam + Jojoba + Rosehip

We selected three that behave beautifully on facial skin.

• Meadowfoam Oil is remarkably stable and gives the skin a wonderfully soft, conditioned feeling without the heaviness associated with many richer oils.
• Jojoba Oil is technically a liquid wax rather than a conventional oil. Its unusual composition gives it a wonderful affinity for the skin and makes it an elegant emollient.
• Rosehip Oil brings naturally occurring fatty acids, including linoleic acid, and provides mature or dry skin with additional lipid nourishment.

Together, these oils help soften the skin and reduce that dry, depleted feeling that can make fine lines and texture appear more pronounced.

Why Combine Botanicals And Peptides?
